Jeordie White - Biography

Jeordie White or Twiggy Ramirez . . .

Jeordie Francis White was born on June 20, 1971 in Florida. His mother was a groupie that danced naked ina cage for power-metal bands. His father --according to Jeordie-- went insane after and accident and disappeared when Jeordie was only six years old.  He has three half-borthers: wesley, Dustin, and Aden Wesley (who later appeared on the cover of Get Your Gunn). Jeordie comments, "When I was about seven or eight years old, I had a plastic toy fish, where you pulled a smaller plastic fish out of the bigger fish's mouth, on a string.  and it went chop-chop-chop.  I wrapped it around my . . . member, and it got caught and I had to go to the hospital. It was cutting the circulation off and they thought they might have to remove part of my . . . " So, becasue of many things Jeordie's childhood is seen as a turbulent one.  Jeordie has always been a timeless fan of heavy metal and had long hair, since his mother never cut it.

Jeordie started playing the violin when he was in elemetary and at age thirteen he started playing guitar. Jeordie went to Taravelle High School in Florida, place where as many, his personality was defined. He was raised and still is Atheist, one of his idols is oddly Jesus. He loves penutbutter and Star Wars.  In his house you can find a collection of "Star Wars memorabilia which [he has} been collecting since when it came out in 1977". Twiggy never has gotten a tatoo since he changes his mind about things too much and tatoos are permanent. His influences Möntley Crüe, twisted sister, Van Halen, Iron maiden, David Bowie, WASP, among others, lead Jeordie to play guitar in a Death Metal band called Amgoog-A-Lard. In 1992, Jeordie received a Slammie Award for best guitarist of the year. It was druing that time that Jeordie met Brian Warner [Marilyn Manson], leader of a band that was barely starting to show true competion to Amboog-A-Lard. To Jeordie he had to get into Marilyn Manson.

Established as friends, Jeordie and Brian went about with various musical projects, among which were "Mr.s scabtree" and a fake christian metal band "Satan on Fire", one which they used to infiltrate christian venues. After Gidget Gein, bassist, had to leave the band due to some problems, Jerodie's way was apved and he was the new bassist. It was the first time that he ever picekd-up a bass, and in the tradition fo Marilyn Manson he took yp the name Twiggy Ramirez.  Twiggy coming from a popular 60's model and Ramirez the last named of a known killer, Richard Ramirez --someone who Jeordie found sympathetic.

Twiggy recorded his first album with Marilyn Manson, Portrait of An American Family, in which he played bass and continued to record Smells Like Children in which he composed and did vocals for the song "Scabs, guns, and penut butter". In 1996, Twiggy took on a major task in the band after Daisy Berkowitz, guitarist, had to leave the band in the middle of recording Antichrist Superstar. He was doing bass and practically all guitar tracks for the album. According to Twiggy, "Antichrist Superstar was [his] first real albnm".  After the arduous task of recording Antichrist Superstar, in 1998, they set out for the recodring of Mechanical Animals. Twiggy kept recording bass tracks as well as some electric and acoustic guitar tracks for the album, playing riffs and melodies that were very close to his influences.

His last record with Marilyn Manson was Holy Wood, he worked with John 5, guitarist, and produced more creative work, taking Twiggy to play some more lead guitar tracks, as well as some keyboard and drums, which features his compostion, the song, "The Lamb of God".  While he still was working with Marilyn Manson he went about with many side prjects.  Among these projects, was his part on Rasputin's "Transylvanian Concubine", in which Twiggy played bass and guitar. Not only that, Twiggy helped in the recording of three songs with Godhead, as well as the recording of the song "Everything" with Dave Navarro [guitarist, Red Hot Chili Peppers, then jane's Addiction]. He also participated in the band Lady of the rock Star, writing the lyrics for the song "Blood Pollution".

It was in 2002 when twiggy was officially out of Marilyn Manson. This lead him to audition for Queens of the Stone Age, where he was rejected as possible guitarist, and also for Metallica. He was DJ in a hippy clubin Los angeles, but that was just a passtime he used while he was part of no bands. Finally Twiggy went on to join A Percet Circle, and became once again just Jeordie White. The band have recorded an album titled The Thirteenth Step which will be in stores on September 16, 2003, the first single is "Weak and Powerless".
