Summer Sanitarium Tour

Summer Sanitarium Tour
Metallica, Limp Biskit, Linkin Park, Deftones, and Mudvayne
Realiant Stadium - August 2, 2003

I went to this show last Saturday and it was honestly awesome.  The order in which they played is the reversed order in which they are listed.  I was there to see Deftones but the whole show was really great.  The guys from Mudvayne are so cool; they were talking alot to the audience. The vocalist put on a Texas shirt, because according to him "we love Texas".  Mudvayne is a hardcore band, and I decided to feature them in my site this month because of that and because I think they are cool people that need to get some more attention. The drummer thres his drum sticks at the audience after their set and I caught one of them. That was so cool!

After Mudvayne it was Deftones.  When Chino came out the whole pit rumbled, and I went along with it.  I was so excited to see my Chino Moreno, gosh I may sound like a little bopper, but I love him.  They put on such a great show; I nearly lost my voice screaming and singing and everything.  I also got crushed by many during the whole show, but I love that. Hearing Chino live is so mmm mmm good. I have been listening to Deftones since "7 Words" and "Bored".  For those of you who have seen the "Minerva" video; chino does not look like that, he has lost weight and is still sexy.

Well, moving on, they were great! Linkin Park was next and my gosh I think about twenty thousand more people came out of no where when LP came around.  I could not move; we were all crushed together and moshing and it was awesome.  The guys from Linkin park are so great.  Teh put on a really good show, and as for the guys they kept talking to the auidience, as always showing gratitude to all those who came to watch them --which were a whole lot of people. Linkin Park means a lot to me on a personal level.  their first album Hybrid Theory helped me through some really hrad times.  I can frankly say their music saved my life, it help me to understand that many of the things I was going thru were not uniquely happeneing to me alone.  it make me see that everyone at some point in time has to go through hard time to grow as a person.  So seeing them live and beign able to make eye contact and smile with them in between so many people, was a great experiece. So yes, I do like Linkin Park regardless of all the people the consider them posers, or whatever.  Their music goes in deep, and that is what I look for in songs, for a meaning, not just a catchy tune.

After Linkin Park I was basically crushed, so I got out of the pit, and got some water and just waled around I stayed in  the back all through Limp Biskit's perfomance, but I can tell you it was rockin' and thaat the people were definately into the music.  I guess I was pretty lucky, for the last song Fred Durst decided he was going to go all the way around to the back to perform, so I got to see him close and personal.  I know I may be late on things, but I had no idea he was so old and bald. Ah well, one learns a new thigns everyday.  His show was good.

I soon had to go look for something, because a little incedent had occured when Linkin Park was playing.  Soem idiot decided to fling my cell phone onstage; the cell phone fell right in front of Pheonix [bassist for LP].  So all the while after Limp Biskit I waa looking for my phone, and I was so pissed off I left before I could see Metallica.  It is alright though, for afterwards I went to a Taproot show in a smaller venue, in which I had a pretty ncie time.

For all that missed the Summer Sanitarium Tour for one reason or another, amn you guys missed one of the greatest summer tours.  For eventhough I did not go, I am pretty sure Ozzfest 2003 was the best this summer.  After those two comes Lollapalooza and lastly, lastly the Warped tour whose only band that I like was AFI.
